AI chart analysis for MetaTrader 4 and MT5

Updated August 2026

MetaTrader 4 and MT5 are still where a large share of forex and gold traders actually work, and they are the platform AI chart tools most often ignore. Tickrify does not ignore them, for a simple reason: the instruments MT traders live on are the ones we have the best live data for. Forex majors, crosses, gold and silver all get verified candles.

There is nothing to install. No Expert Advisor, no DLL, no broker credentials. You screenshot a chart and paste it.

The workflow

  1. Set your chart up in MT4 or MT5 the way you trade it. Objects and indicators can stay on.
  2. Capture the chart window. On Windows, Alt+PrtScn captures the active window straight to the clipboard. On Mac, Cmd+Shift+4 then space, then click the window.
  3. Paste into Tickrify with Ctrl+V.
  4. Read the structured output: bias, entry, stop, targets, confluence, risk, scenarios and the invalidation that would prove it wrong.

Broker symbol suffixes

MetaTrader symbols are not standardized. Depending on your broker the same instrument shows up as EURUSD, EURUSD.m, EURUSDmicro, EURUSD_raw, XAUUSD.pro or a dozen other variants, and some brokers append a suffix to every symbol on the platform.

Tickrify reads the symbol string off your chart and strips it down to the underlying pair before looking for data. In practice that means the common suffixes resolve correctly. If your broker uses something unusual enough that the pair cannot be identified, the analysis still runs, it just runs from the screenshot alone without a verified candle block. It will not silently substitute a different instrument.

Your broker's feed is not our feed, and that matters

This is the disclosure most tools skip and MT traders should insist on. The candles we fetch do not come from your broker. They come from a reference feed. Your broker's quotes are its own, built from its own liquidity providers, with its own spread and its own bar close times.

The practical consequences:

We would rather say this on the page than have you discover it on a trade. Use the analysis for the read. Use your own platform for the price.

Framing an MT screenshot well

Why there is no Expert Advisor

An EA that read your charts and placed trades is technically buildable and we are not going to build it. Two reasons, and neither is about difficulty.

The first is that a tool which both advises and executes has an incentive problem. The moment we profit from your activity rather than your outcome, the honest answer of "no trade" becomes expensive for us to give, and that answer is the entire product.

The second is that the measured hit rate does not support automation. We publish it on the accuracy page, with sample size and a 95% confidence interval, including the parts that look bad. Look at those numbers and then ask yourself whether you would hand them the keys to your account unattended. We would not, so we are not going to sell you the option.

What it will not do

Questions people actually ask

Do I need to install anything in MetaTrader?

No. No Expert Advisor, no indicator, no script, no DLL. You take a screenshot and paste it into a web page.

Will it recognize my broker's symbol suffix?

Usually. The symbol string is stripped down to the underlying pair, so variants like EURUSD.m or XAUUSD.pro resolve. If the pair cannot be identified, the analysis runs from the screenshot alone rather than substituting something else.

Why is the price it quotes slightly different from my platform?

Because the candles come from a reference feed, not from your broker. Spreads, liquidity providers and server time all differ. Use the read for structure and place orders from your own chart.

Does it work with MT4 and MT5 both?

Yes. It reads an image, so the platform version is irrelevant. The same is true of cTrader, Thinkorswim, NinjaTrader and any exchange interface.

Can it analyze my strategy tester results or account history?

No. It reads one chart at a time. It is a checkpoint before a single trade, not a performance analytics tool.

You already have the chart open. Screenshot it, run it free, and see whether the AI confirms your read or tells you to skip it. Three analyses, no card.
