Free AI Chart Analysis in 2026: What You Actually Get Without Paying

Tickrify Team · September 2026

We sell a paid chart analysis product, so read this with the bias in mind. It is also why the article exists: most "best free AI chart tools" lists are written to funnel you into a subscription, and the honest version of this page costs us conversions. Here is what free actually gets you in 2026, where it breaks, and the three jobs where paying for anything would be a waste.

The four kinds of free

"Free" in this category means four different things, and they are not interchangeable.

KindWhat it really isWatch for
General chat models with vision (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude)Genuinely free at a usage cap. Reads any screenshot you paste. No live price feed. Invents precise levels. No memory of your last read unless you build it.
No-signup demoOne or a few analyses with no account and no card. Rare, because it costs the vendor money with no lead captured.Usually a reduced version of the paid output. Check what was removed.
Free tier after signupA fixed allowance of full analyses, no card. The common honest model. The allowance is the whole sample you get to judge the product on. Spend it on charts you already have an opinion about.
Free trial with a cardNot free. A subscription with a cancellation deadline. The cancellation flow, and whether the trial silently converts at a higher price than advertised.

If a page says "free" and asks for a card before the first analysis, you are in row four. That is a legitimate business model, but it should not appear in a list titled "free".

What a general chat model does well

Better than most vendors will admit. Paste a chart screenshot into a current chat model with vision and ask for a structural read, and you will get a competent description of trend, obvious swing points, the range it is sitting in, and a plausible narrative. For learning to read a chart, it is remarkable, and it costs nothing.

Three things it does badly enough to cost you money:

The free prompt that closes most of the gap

Two of those three failures are fixable with wording. Paste this with your screenshot:

You are reviewing a chart I am considering trading. Rules:
1. Do not infer exact prices from the image. Ask me for the
current price and the key levels, or state levels as
structure ("above the prior swing high") rather than numbers.
2. You are allowed, and expected, to answer "no trade here".
Most charts do not contain a setup.
3. Give me: market structure, the direction the structure
favours, where the idea is invalidated, and the single
   strongest argument against the trade.
4. No encouragement. No "good luck". If the setup is marginal,
   say marginal.
Instrument: [X] Timeframe: [Y] My read: [one line]

That prompt, used every time, gets a free model most of the way to a usable second opinion. The longer version, plus the test that exposes the price problem in 30 seconds, is in our ChatGPT piece. If you will genuinely run it every time, including on the day you are down two trades and in a hurry, you do not need to buy anything.

What free tiers hide

Three things worth checking before you spend your free allowance:

The fastest test of any free chart tool: send it a featureless, flat chart. What it says next tells you what it is for.

Three jobs where free is enough

We would rather you keep your money than churn in a month. Free is the right answer if your job is:

  1. Learning to read structure. A chat model explaining why a break of structure is a break of structure, on chart after chart, is a genuinely good teacher and there is no reason to pay for that.
  2. Occasional sanity checks. A few charts a month, no routine to maintain. A careful prompt covers it.
  3. Arithmetic. Position size, risk-reward and the win rate a given ratio requires are calculations, not analysis. Ours are free and require no account at tickrify.com/tools, and they run entirely in your browser.

Four places free genuinely runs out

And the honest case for the other side:

What ours gives away, precisely

So you can compare it against the four kinds above without reading a pricing page:

Paid is $29/month for 200 credits, and we publish the comparison of when it is and is not worth it in Tickrify vs ChatGPT. If the prompt above covers your use, use the prompt.

FAQ

Is there a free AI that analyses trading charts?

Yes. General chat models with vision read chart screenshots at no cost and describe structure well. Several purpose-built tools offer a limited free allowance. The differences are grounding in live data, whether the tool may refuse a setup, and whether results are published.

Can I analyse a chart with AI without signing up?

Some tools allow it. Ours runs a demo analysis with no account at /try, then a 3-day free trial after signup with no card. Most competing free tiers require an account first, and some require a card.

What is the catch with free AI chart analysis?

Usually one of three: a card required before the trial, a free tier that never refuses a setup because it exists to sell an upgrade, or invented price levels because nothing grounds the model in live candles.

Is free AI chart analysis accurate?

Good at structure, bad at numbers. A vision model reading an image commonly invents levels that are plausible and wrong by enough to matter. Verify every level on your own chart before acting.

When is it worth paying?

When you need the same standard applied every time without writing the prompt, live data behind the read, a tool permitted to say no trade, and a published track record. Otherwise, free is enough.

Start with the free version of ours: one analysis with no account, then a 3-day free trial after signup, no card at any point. Structure, entry, stop, targets, risk-to-reward and the level that invalidates the read, or an honest wait.
